Solaire 360 S

Solaire Generation partnered with  Standard Solar and Solar Grid Storage to install Maryland’s first corporate microgrid for the Konterra Realty Group in Laurel, MD. The system includes 402 kW of Solaire 360 S canopies combined with a battery storage system and Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations. The canopies protect cars from the sun, rain, and snow and help satisfy Konterra’s electricity needs. At the same time, lithium ion batteries provide frequency regulation services that help stabilize the grid and can serve as a source of emergency backup power if needed. The project, which was awarded the Maryland Energy Administration’s “Game Changer” grant, was unveiled at a ribbon cutting on October 15, 2013 attended by Maryland Governor Mike O’Malley and FERC Chairman Jon Wellinghoff. The installation set the standard for solar projects that promote resiliency and energy independence.
